2025 IRTA Convention – Unit Honoree Recognition

A Unit Honoree is an IRTA member selected by their local unit to be recognized for their outstanding service, dedication, or lasting impact on fellow retired educators and the association. This recognition honors individuals who go above and beyond in supporting their local unit, advocating for retirees, or contributing meaningfully to their community.

The Unit Honoree Program was created to shine a light on these exceptional members, offering each unit a way to celebrate and share the achievements of their peers. By highlighting their stories at the convention, we foster a deeper sense of appreciation, connection, and inspiration across the statewide IRTA membership.

Each IRTA Unit is invited to select one member to be recognized as their 2025 Unit Honoree. Units may determine their own criteria for selecting this individual, and both living and deceased members may be honored.

To ensure consistency, all units are asked to complete the same nomination form. This will allow us to present each honoree’s information in a brief, uniform format. Honorees will be featured in a PowerPoint presentation, which will include their name and photo.

Please complete the nomination form below. In addition, email a high-quality photo of your honoree to snorman@irtaonline.org or mail it to:

IRTA, 828 S. 2nd St., 4th Floor, Springfield, IL 62704.

All submissions must be received no later than September 15, 2025.

Submissions received after this date will not be included in the presentation.

Thank you for helping us honor outstanding members across the state!
